This cross-cutting working group examines recruitment and protection of migrant workers in the context of temporary and seasonal migration schemes. Diverse sections in the Montreal Recommendations are relevant, for example those focused on recruitment fees and costs, bilateral cooperation, licensing, inspection and enforcement. The working group offers participants an opportunity to exchange experiences, expertise and good practices to improve regulation and oversight in temporary migration, with a spotlight on recruitment and placement practices, whether performed by public authorities or private agencies. Dialogue in this working group also informs and reinforces exchanges in other Thematic Working Groups.
